Cayetano Responds to Robredo's Challenge on Continuing Rage vs Marcoses

Vice President Leni Robredo challenged Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano to speak up about his indignation against the late former dictator and president Ferdinand Marcos. During his campaign, it can be recalled that Sen. Cayetano was very vocal in blasting the Marcoses for their ill-gotten wealth, but has since shifted his focus and attention in supporting president Duterte after the elections.

Duterte and the Marcos family share close ties and considers the family as friends, eventually allowing the burial of Marcos in the Heroes' Cemetery. Cayetano is known for being a staunch supporter of Duterte, but Robredo claims that he should be more aggressive in his opposition to the Marcoses despite his loyalty to the president.

This led to Sen. Cayetano responding to VP Robredo's challenge. In a social media post on his Facebook page, Cayetano replied and took a shot at the LP Party members' involvement in illegal drugs as well as bringing up numerous issues in the country in the last administration, including the bullet-planting scams and the SAF 44 victims.

Cayetano stated that he respected VP Robredo's silence in regards to these issues but in the end, he challenged Robredo to stop the campaigning and instead help the country in attracting investments and redistributing the country's wealth by being united and doing it together.
