Darwin Cañete, a prosecutor in Caloocan City, browbeaten a man named Ryan Yap who is believed to be a social media troll to threaten critics of Vice President Leni Robredo.
The man is allegedly using fake social media account who is supporting the Liberal Party.
Cañete, who is vocal in opposing the LP, said that the man threatened his life along with his family’s.
According to some netizens, Yap, is an alleged identity thief who borrowed photos of a man named Magno Menderico. It can be recalled that the man was viral in March of last year for dating several women, and for criticizing President Rodrigo Duterte while he was still campaigning.
“Dear troll Ryan Yap or whoever the f*ck you are you identity thief, this is what will happen. Hindi ako maaawa sa iyo. No areglo. I will file cases against you. I will put you on every government list. NBI, PNP, DFA and Bureau of Immigration,” Cañete said.
He said he will make sure Yap will be incarcerated.
“Hindi ka makakapagtrabaho, makaka-abroad, makukulong ka at lahat ng inipon mo pakukuha ko sa korte. I will make you famous so lahat ng na-perwisyo mo can hurt you if they see you. I will shame your family, friends and co-workers. I will expose your criminal cowardice. I will break you,” he added.
As of writing, the Facebook account of Ryan Yap has been deactivated. Cañete however reiterated that he will find a way to track down the real user of the said account.
“I was informed that the concerned account of Ryan Yap has either locked down or been deleted. Does not matter boy. I only need a court order for the Facebook country manager to see it. And guess where I work?”
