HAYOP KA! Ama Ibinenta Ang Bagong Silang Na Sanggol sa Halagang P5,000 Para Pang Downpayment ng Motorsiklo

A father would be the last person you would expect to sell his child. But for this young man from Laoag City, it was an only option he had because he needed the money.
For what? To buy a motorcycle.

In the GMA News report, a 22-year-old father sold his newborn baby for P5,000 so he could use as downpayment to purchase a motorcycle.

According to initial investigation, Francis Palacio from Ilocos Norte, told his live-in partner and the baby’s mother, Lanalyn Bituin, to go to a hotel. Once they arrived at the appointed place, a woman named Catherine Garcia forcibly took the baby from its mother. Garcia reportedly threatened to kill Bituin if she attempted to retrieve the baby.

“May ibinigay na Php 5,000 itong Catherine sa tatay. So pagkatapos nilang kumain, pinasama niya yung mag-ina niya doon sa Catherin na pumunta sa Laoag. Naiwan na si Francisco,” S/Insp. Angelito said during the interview with radio station DZRH.

CCTV footage from the hotel showed Garcia carrying the child when she walked out of the establishment. Based on descriptions, Garcia is about 25-30 years old, has curly hair and average height. The police also believed that Catherine Garcia is not the real name of the suspect, and that the criminal will sell again the child to prospective buyers. There’s also an ongoing manhunt for Garcia and the baby.
