LOOK: Former Negros Solon Files Multiple Criminal Charges Against Sen. Risa Hontiveros

Senator Risa Hontiveros is now facing criminal multiple criminal charges after a former Negros Oriental solon Rep. Jacinto Paras filed a case on Monday against the senator. The case was filed to the Office of the Ombudsman for disclosing his supported text messages with Justice Sec. Aguirre and for exploiting minor witnesses in the probe of Kian delos Santos' killing.

The former lawmaker charged the controversial senator with kidnapping, obstruction of justice, and violation of the Anti-Wiretapping Law.

The case against Sen. Hontiveros was filed by Jing Paras on September 25, 2017. Paras said in his complaint that Sen. Hontiveros committed the crimes of kidnapping, failure to return a minor, and inducing a minor to abandon his home when the senator took custody of minors who were witnesses in the alleged killing of 17-year-old student Kian delos Santos.

Paras was quoted as saying "No less than Hontiveros had publicly admitted to the taking as well as to having kept the minors without court authorization." The case filed by Paras against Hontiveros was with fellow lawyers Eligio Mallari and Nestor Inuring.

The former Negros Oriental lawmaker also cited on his complaint a written request and a police blotter by 3 of the minors' father seeking the transfer of custody from Hontiveros to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The complaint against Hontiverso also said that the father had written to the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC), requesting assistance.
