LP Allegedly Plotting To Kill President Duterte - Former Manila Councilor

A shocking but somehow believable intelligence report has been received by Greco Belgica, a former Manila councilor which he exposed to reporters. According to the reports he received, the Liberal Party (LP) is financing destabilization and assasination plots against President Rodrigo Duterte.

The "ones heading the plans" according to Belgica are prominent people in LP, the names of Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon, former President Benigno Aquino III, former political adviser Ronald Llamas, former Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, former Interior Secratary Manuel "Mar" Roxas II are the ones leading the supposed assassination plot.

In reference to an incident last July 19 where a two-vehicle convoy of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) was attacked by New People's Army (NPA) in Cotabato, Belgica said it was proof of the consistency that the LP are talking to mercenaries to have Duterte killed.
"The attempts are consistent. They (LP) are talking to mercenaries. Remember, the President's convoy has been attacked already,"
He also claimed that LP's efforts to kill the president is becoming relentless.
"Sila rin ang relentless efforts and attempts to kill the President, destroy his loved ones, and threaten the lives of those who support him."
He also added that they want to kill the president so VP Leni Robredo can take his place and they can evade criminal liabilities.
"They want to put Leni Robredo in power and evade criminal liabilities. We don't want that to happen so we should not allow it."
Belgica also said that the LP is able to do that because they had lots of money in their hands after getting billions from the Disbursement Acceleration Program or DAP.
"They have so much money in their hands and they are willing to use it. This is known in the intelligence community. They are willing to use it because they are going to jail."
Meanwhile, reactions regarding the expose differs. When asked about it Senator Antonio Trillanes said that Belgica should not be believed because he is a "lunatic."

Malacanang on the other hand released their statement regarding Belgica's accusations. Presidential Spokesperson said that Belgica need s to have substantial evidence so he can back up his claim. But he assured the people that they will look into it.
“As far as we know, matters like these arise every day, almost every day, threats and the like. And so… I’m sure it’s going to be also looked into.”
“Any threat is a cause of concern,”
